Il était de religion protestante.
Pendu à la prison de Bordeaux le 10 février 1956 pour le meurtre de Richard Lindsay, l'un des 3 chasseurs américains trouvés morts dans un bois de Gaspé en 1954.
En 2023, (The Montreal Gazette, 10 février 2023, page A6), publie un article intitulé «Why Wilbert Coffin still matters ?
It appears to have been a miscarriage of justice, and vigilance remains essential to prevent others (Katryn M. Campbell says in page A6 of The Montreal Gazette of february 10, 2023)
Without vigilance on the part of those in the justice system, mistakes will continue to be made, as an examination of what happened Wilbert Coffin 67 years ago strongly suggests.
